welance combines the advantages of agency services with independent experts. We are not an anonymous recruiter or a platform. We are an established team of 30+ people, well-connected, emphatic and with several decades of project experience. We can be booked individually or realize holistic digital projects as an agency.

We are engineers, entrepreneurs, designers, consultants and marketing experts. We are variable teams for diverse clients - progressive startups, established corporations and NPOs. We love technology. Our goal is to make ourselves superfluous and our customers capable of acting - in a sprint or in a multi-year marathon.
Team & Structure
One for all.
We work in projects of one to 20 people. Through shared workflows, we can scale teams and organize short-term support if required. Welance manages, invoices and coordinates the project in consultation with the client. Both individual experts and the team as a whole agency can be booked.
How we work
Remote, but still very close.
Our decentralized teams work from Italy, Germany, Brazil and all over the world. Thanks to our "remote first"-philosophy, we have mastered a variety of tools and techniques and their appropriate use.

We have been living and promoting this approach for over 20 years, supporting its establishment as the "new normal."

How does the agency of the future look like?
In 2012, we questioned the classic “agency model”. We wanted a binding network of freelance experts to implement complex projects and still be able to offer the service and commitment of an agency. In other words, we wanted to combine the best of both worlds. We started with a team of four members and founded a coworking space with 25 workstations in the heart of Berlin Kreuzberg.
2016
Freelancers Unite
There used to be a time when people asked "so, you didn't get a real job" when Freelancers told about their work-life. This always has been bullshit - but how to change things?! We raised our voices and supported political campaigning with space and manpower. We're very proud to have kickstarted the Freelancers movement and Freelancers associations across Europe from the very beginning.

For independent professionals everyday is day 1. We foster collaboration and exchange of knowledge. We’re here to stay curious and share trends, insights and learnings across our studios. Driven by our CTO & Co-Founder Enrico we regulary implement state-of-the-art technologies & workflows and share the learnings within our community and so called welance pills 💊💊.
2020
Really remote. Hello countryside.
The dynamics of Corona enabled great opportunities to re-adjust the ways of work, live and communicate. Our members have always been on the road and proved that remote work works. We support rural impact hubs like Coconat, Hof Prädikow, Netzwerk Zukunftsorte from day one and many members have settled in rural areas across Europe. 2021 was the perfect moment to say goodbye to our beloved coworking space and Berlins never ending rising rents. Thank you Waldemarstraße - we'll keep you in our hearts.

In 2022 we moved with our office from the beautiful Spree-view-Loft to the even more beautiful forest-near creative hub MOOS.
We missed beeing surrounded with many value driven people in this old factory building near Treptower Park. We share the goal to put our heart and brain to support projects at the intersection of society, tech, environment & housing.

The Agency OS Butler is the result of our 10+ years of experience as a flexible digital agency. The central hub for modern agencies that want to use automated deployments, APIs and a central dashboard to manage and monitor projects and optimise processes using artificial intelligence and state-of-the-art workflows.
